Static QR codes do not have an expiry date. They keep working as long as the destination or encoded information remains valid.

Use a QR code to start an SMS

SMS QR codes can use the sms: URI scheme. A scan can open the phone's messaging app with the number ready, although exact behaviour can vary between devices.

Keep the destination number current. The QR code itself will not expire, but if the phone number changes you will need to create and print a new code.

Important: “Never expires” refers to the static QR code itself. A linked web page, social account, phone number or other destination can still change or disappear.

Do static QR codes expire?

No. A static QR code has no built-in expiry date. If it points to a website, that destination still needs to remain available.

Do I need an account?

No. This generator creates the QR code in your browser and does not require an account.

Can I print the QR code?

Yes. Test the downloaded code at the intended print size before producing a large quantity.

Can I change the link after printing?

Not with a static QR code. The destination is encoded directly in the image. To change it, create a new QR code or use a redirect URL that you control.
